Long ago in an era long past, a breach between our reality and the realm of fae caused the two planes of existence to cross paths. During this breach many Earthly creatures where subjected to fae magic, one of which was a colony of flightless dragons. From this exposure to otherworldly magic the first Cabochon Jesters where born.

For a while, Cabochon Jesters kept to themselves making sure not to be caught, however due to their fae nature, they would end up sneaking into human territories regardless and playing pranks. due to this finicky behavior, Cabochon Jesters became a legend passed down through stories for many millennia, thought to be nothing but a fairytale. 

 

However, things would change when a cataclysmic forest fire would burn down their refuge leaving them to either join society or go extinct.

Today, Cabochon's can be found anywhere. from street markets, to shopping centers, to town fairs. Cabochon jesters can fill any job they so choose, however because of their nature and affinity for chaos and revelry, they often fill jobs in the entertainment industry such as acting, singing, puppeteering, or clown work.
